Running Log 2011: Week #6
Well, another 60km week is in the books and I must say it felt pretty good overall. The -20C weather was a royal pain, but my 19km fartlek this weekend was run in what I would consider balmy weather, it must have been about -3C with a massive sun to boot! This week will be mostly the same, maybe I'll creep up to 65km.
Two weeks from now I'll be racing the Really Chilly Road Race in London and I'll be attempting my first 10km road race of 2011. It should be a fun affair.

You make me feel like an incredibly lazy slacker! I can barely get my butt outside to shovel for 20 minutes. How do you cope with the cold and stay positive?
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for indoor workouts.
Max, frankly, I don't know what makes me get out the door in -20C with winter winds, ice and snow. When I reflect on it I consider myself crazy.
ReplyDeleteIn the end, I think it comes down to having small concrete goals on a week by week basis. Combine my goals with the accountability my team provides me and it becomes easy to see why I can successfully deliver on these goals.
I also don't blame you for not wanting to shovel snow, especially since your return to the country. ;)
